The Fossil Ridge Marching Festival is a competitive, early season event that offers bands a low pressure opportunity to showcase any length of show and receive feedback from judges. The festival will host up to 24 bands will be a one-shot festival performance format. This will be a Colorado Bandmasters Association-sanctioned festival and will follow all CBA rules and guidelines. Each band will receive scores and audio feedback in each caption, along with a video of their performance. We will be offering an optional Sunday judge clinic for directors. Each band will have the opportunity to receive scores and feedback in each caption, but there will not be a public recap sheet and scores will not be announced. Minimum show time requirements will not be enforced for this show.
Eligibility
Any marching band whose director has a current CBA membership.
Festival Philosophy
We strive to provide the highest quality performance opportunity for students. Utilizing a diverse and highly qualified panel, our goal is to provide a State Championships atmosphere for all participating ensembles.
Policies and Procedures
As a sanctioned event of the Colorado Bandmasters Association, all CBA Rules and Regulations can be found on the CBA Marching Affairs Website. All copyright clearances must be received by the Colorado Bandmasters Association Marching Chairman before your band will be allowed to perform.
Judging Panel
The judging panel will consist of 4 Music Judges, 3 Visual Judges, Percussion commentary, and Color Guard commentary. We are excited to welcome two out-of-state judges, Marty Griffin and Greg Llacer, who will also be judging for CBA State Championships in October!

Spectator Info and Tickets
- The Fossil Ridge Marching Festival will take place on Saturday, September 20 at Timnath Middle/High School.
- The address is 4700 Prospect Rd. Timnath, CO 80547
- All spectator parking is located in the two large parking lots in front of the school building along Prospect Road.
- A limited number of handicap parking is available to the west of the main spectator lot, directly to the south of the stadium. (Please see parking attendant upon arrival)
- Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to park, walk to the stadium, buy your ticket, enter the stadium and be seated. Entrance to the festival is through the south gates of the stadium.
- Spectators will not be allowed to enter the seating area during a band performance. Seating will need to take place in between performances.
- Concessions will be available. Cash, credit card and Venmo payments accepted.
- There will be a festival merchandise table available. Cash or credit cards accepted.
- Refer to the aerial map under the "Info for Units" tab for locations of spectator parking, bus, equipment truck and food truck routes.
- PSD's clear bag policy will be in effect for this event. Please visit our district stadium policy page for more information.
- Animal Policy: No animals will be allowed in the stadium except for service animals.
