All percussionists in Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony will be in their respective concert band classes for the 2023-2024 school year. Percussionists will be pulled out multiple times a week by our percussion instructor for individualized percussion instruction. Emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of comprehensive percussion performance (snare drum, timpani, keyboards, world percussion, accessories, marching percussion, and drum set), including tonal concepts, technical skills, rehearsal skills, aural skills, and rudimentary music theory. All percussionists are highly encouraged to participate in the FRHS Marching Band and FRHS Winter Percussion but are not required. |
